White Marriage

Mariage Blanc in Morocco means a sham marriage between a Moroccan man and a European woman in order to obtain a residence permit and thereafter the citizenship of a European country. Literally translated "Mariage Blanc" means "white wedding" which, considering the dark skin of the majority of the Moroccan population, can be taken as a reference to the white skin of the European women.
