Emilien Awada

Emilien Awada is a director, cinematographer and photographer. He is a lecturer in the Cinema and Plastic Arts departments at Paris 8 University and at the Faculty of Arts (Sorbonne University). After studying art and cinema at Paris 3 and Paris 8 Universities, he directed several commissioned films for television and for museum institutions. Since 2014, he has been working closely with artists and filmmakers on documentary film projects, artist films and installations presented in international festivals and art centres. In particular, he directed with Constanze Ruhm the Panoramis Paramount Paranormal series of short films and multimedia installations (Berlinale 2015, FID 2016, Transmediale 2017) and signed the image and editing of several artist films produced between 2020 and 2022 as part of the “Nouveaux Commanditaires" sponsors action. He also directed the photography of two feature-length documentaries, Quinzaine Claire (Adrien Genoudet, Entrevues Belfort 2016) and Pollock & Pollock (Isabelle Rèbre, silver FILAF 2021).He is currently working on the writing and development of his first feature film shot in Beirut and South Lebanon.
